October 1st

Good Morning, and Happy October! After being fortunate enough to share a brief conversation with David Lehman, the editor of the latest Oxford Anthology of American Poetry, and after hearing he wrote a poem a day for five years, I decided to give a poem a day for ONE MONTH another go. Isn't it wonderful how we inspire each other? Maybe my humble poems will inspire you in some way. Maybe they will inspire you to never visit Udnib again, but please let that not be so! Here is October 1: Rain

still between soft body breaths
your back to me
over your shoulder, between the blinds
I can see
the grey rain from our bed
